Assistant Director of Residential Services- Harleysville, PA

Peaceful Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Residential Services to provide leadership and create belonging for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The primary focus of this job will be to provide and promote for the welfare, well-being, the care and programmatic needs of individuals that we support, according to the philosophy, mission and vision of Peaceful Living. The primary focus will be providing supervision to Community Home Supervisors in their location(s).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the assigned community homes (including, but not limited to scheduling employees, menu planning, grocery shopping, team meetings, resident care and support, etc.)
  • Lead, supervise, and support Community Home Supervisors in assigned homes, assist with the total care of individuals living in the homes
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of Peaceful Living as well as the requirements set forth by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Health
  • Participate in the Manager On Call (MOC) rotation as assigned to ensure proper management oversight, and ensure health and safety on all three shifts on a 24 hours a day, 7 day per week basis
  • Ensure that assigned homes meet key performance indicators (KPIs) set forth by the Executive Team to regulate employee overtime, purchasing, and other expenses related to the operation of the residence
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to communicate medical, social, and behavioral needs of individuals served, in a timely fashion
  • Maintain professional communication and exhibit professional behavior with families, guardians, care team members, supports coordinators, behavior specialists, advocates, colleagues, and all other stakeholders
  • Assist the Director of Residential Services to prepare for licensing reviews through monthly physical site inspections, ongoing compliance with the Office of Developmental Programs/Department of Health regulations, and documentation to note and correct deficiencies
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment Coordinator to ensure that the hiring and onboarding process is facilitated in a timely and consistent manner
  • Conduct investigations as assigned using Certified Investigator protocols and practices
  • Facilitate additional trainings as assigned
  • Assist the Director of Residential Services and Vice President of Operations in program expansion initiatives that include the opening of new community homes
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Services and/or Vice President of Operations

Work Schedule: Flexible hours required / On-call rotation

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Must maintain a valid (state of residence) driver's license and driving approval from Peaceful Living.
  • Must attend and acquire certification in the DPW Medication Administration Course and become a practicum observer within one year of date of hire in role of Assistant Director of Residential Services
  • Must attend and obtain certification in the PA Certified Investigator's Course within one year of date of hire in role of Residential Manager

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and one year related experience or Associates Degree from an accredited college or university +3 years related experience or High School Diploma +5 years related experience.
