Assistant Director of Construction
South Florida | Onsite | Multi-Site Portfolio
A leading South Florida enterprise is seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Construction to help lead one of the region’s most ambitious multi-year capital programs.
This is a rare opportunity to play a key leadership role in overseeing a multi-billion-dollar capital investment initiative across multiple locations. The Assistant Director will act as the Director’s right hand, driving execution excellence across a diverse portfolio of vertical and infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
Over the next five years, the organization will deploy a large-scale capital investment program across multiple sites.
This role will:
- Partner directly with the Director to lead day-to-day construction management operations
- Oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Standardize reporting, controls, and governance across the portfolio
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Serve as the owner’s representative, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Step into Director-level responsibilities when needed

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Leadership
- 10+ years of progressive construction management or owner’s representation experience
- 5+ years leading teams and managing multiple concurrent projects
- Proven success delivering large-scale capital projects (multi-million to program-level budgets)
- Experience in public sector, municipal, or complex multi-site capital environments strongly preferred
- Florida market experience highly desirable
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
- Capital project scheduling, estimating, cost controls, and pay application review
- RFIs, submittals, change management, and document control
- Experience implementing standardized project controls across a portfolio
Systems Proficiency
- MS Project and/or Primavera
- Advanced Excel cost tracking
- Procore, Unifier, SharePoint, or similar platforms
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- PMP, CCM, AIC, PE, OSHA 30, or similar credentials (highly desired)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Ability to travel to multiple South Florida project sites
- Flexibility to support occasional evenings or weekends as needed
