Job Details

The Assistant Controller will play a key leadership role in managing day-to-day accounting operations while partnering with the Controller to stabilize, document, and enhance accounting processes and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with a strong foundation in public accounting and hands-on private industry experience who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities
Support and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for completeness and accuracy
Assist in the preparation and review of GAAP-compliant financial statements
Partner with the Controller to design, implement, and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
Help drive process improvements and standardization following the recent Workday implementation
Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, including audit planning, coordination, and issue resolution
Support accounting implications of growth initiatives, including new locations, service lines, and acquisitions
Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific accounting and regulatory requirements
Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to senior and staff accountants
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, revenue cycle, and IT teams

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Combination of public accounting experience (Big 4 or national/regional firm preferred) and private industry experience
Prior experience in healthcare strongly preferred
Experience in a private equity-backed, high-growth, or transformation environment highly desirable
Hands-on experience with Workday Financials required or strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
Proven ability to improve processes and operate effectively in a changing environment
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
