Assistant Controller — Manufacturing (North Metro Atlanta)

Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking an Assistant Controller to support and strengthen their accounting function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, thrives in a multicultural environment, and is ready to take ownership of key financial processes.

What You Will Do:

General Ledger Accuracy & Accounting Integrity (~ 40%)

As the Assistant Controller, you will:

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger under US GAAP
• Reconcile accounts and maintain clean, audit-ready financial records
• Work cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the accounting function

Payroll Ownership for their Georgia location (~ 30%)

The Assistant Controller will:

• Manage payroll processing for approximately 140 onsite employees
• Maintain compliance with all applicable payroll regulations
• Serve as the go-to resource for payroll issues, reporting, and adjustments

Full-Cycle Month-End Close (~ 30%)

In this capacity, the Assistant Controller will:

• Lead full-cycle month-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and financial statements
• Identify process efficiencies and support leadership with timely reporting

What You Bring:

• Strong general accounting knowledge with solid understanding of US GAAP
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred but not required
• SAP experience preferred but not mandatory
• Payroll processing experience, ideally within a similar-sized workforce
• Bachelor's degree preferred (accounting ideal, but open to other majors)
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus
