Job Details

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team. This role is a critical component of our financial management team and plays a key role in managing the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Controller in managing the financial activities of the company, including the preparation of financial reports, direct and indirect budgeting, and forecasting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of finance within a fast-paced sales environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Controller to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
2. Oversee and manage all general ledger activities.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of internal financial controls and procedures.
4. Support the Controller in ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
5. Prepare and analyze budget forecasts and financial plans.
6. Assist in the preparation of annual audits.
7. Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and procedures.
8. Provide guidance to accounting staff and oversee their work for accuracy and compliance.
9. Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
10. Ensure compliance with all internal policies and relevant regulations and ensure filings are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or professional accounting certification (CPA) is required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the sales industry.
3. Proven experience in financial project management.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
12. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
