Overview:

It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant Bar Manager to assist managing the Beverage Department in an efficient and professional manner to ensure quality service to guests while monitoring the operations profitability and ensuring all service standards and legal obligations are followed.  This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity). 

Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department and the division.
  • Direct smooth, efficient, cost effective operation, including labor management, supervision of all aspects of services, scheduling and inventory control.
  • Ensure all departmental service standards are upheld.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training in compliance with Company policies, legal requirements and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of outlets with specific focus on departmental and SNHD food safety standards, OSHA, Fire and Life Safety Regulations.
  • Communicate expectations with the Maintenance department with a focus on preventative maintenance.
  • Understand importance of internal guest service and display ability to communicate professionally and efficiently to all departments as needed within the property and Company.
  • Maintain employee license requirements, attendance, payroll records, and files.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the Culinary Union; comply with Company policies, legal requirements and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to all beverage employees; ensure staff is scheduled properly.
  • Provide recommendations to management on daily operational issues.
  • React to any guest complaints and take any appropriate action.
  • Post all bids, memos, and schedules in a timely manner.
  • Create daily floor plans based on the schedule for the managers to use as a tool when overseeing the casino floor.
  • Responsible for tracking attendance and creating discipline for all full time/on-call beverage employees.
  • Edits and tracks employee’s time in Kronos daily.
  • Assist with all processes and paperwork in regard to hiring, separation, discipline, training, and compliance.
  • Assist in project follow-up with various departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Marketing, and PAD.
  • Assist in daily clerical and operational tasks to support the Beverage Team and perform duties as required within specified deadlines.
  • Assist Beverage Manager and Director with projects as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements preferred.
  • Ability to listen effectively and make strong judgment calls.
  • Previous experience with product ordering as well as inventory control.
  • Working knowledge of organizational methods with attention to detail while meeting targeted deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Minimum age requirement is 21 years old.
  • At least 1 year of previous administrative or supervisory experience, preferably in a casino environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
