Assembly Technician
Location: Redmond
Pay: $24.75 to $26.75
Position Overview:
The Assembly Technician is tasked with putting together fabricated components at assigned floor stations. This includes testing and calibrating parts and systems to ensure they meet precise tolerances and product requirements. The role requires the skilled use of both hand and power tools for assembly processes aligned with defined specifications. Technicians are expected to identify and repair any units that fall short of performance standards. This position functions under close supervision and adheres to established procedures and protocols.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble manufactured components at specific workstations on the production floor.
- Perform testing and calibration of assemblies to verify alignment with technical specifications and acceptable tolerances.
- Utilize manual and electric tools to conduct assembly work as outlined by product guidelines.
- Diagnose and correct issues in units that do not meet quality standards.
- Comply with all safety regulations and help maintain a clean, orderly workspace.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles (PITs) when required, in accordance with safety and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferably 2–4 years of hands-on experience in assembly or a related technical field.
- Apprenticeship completion or formal training in assembly techniques may be necessary.
- Solid understanding of standard industry methods and procedures.
- Ability to precisely follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with equipment and assembly tools.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Regular lifting up to 30 lbs., generally not repetitive in nature.
- Moderate interaction with industrial machinery and potential environmental hazards (chemical, biological, or physical).
- Potential for significant exposure to industrial equipment depending on tasks.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be necessary depending on assignment.
