Asbestos / Environmental Monitoring Specialist

Pay Rate Range: $30-55/hr
Start Date: 3/30 - 4/6 (depending on weather)
Temp Only thru approx. 12/1/26
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri.
Work Hours: 7a-4p (approx) - no set hours, need to be there when the contractors are working
US Citizenship or Perm Residence OK

Requirements
  • A minimum of a (4) four-year degree in Environmental science, environmental engineering, or related environmental discipline.
  • A minimum of (2) two years of experience performing environmental field work and construction inspections.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a NYSDOL certified Asbestos Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician.
  • 4-hours of NYS Department of Environmental Conservation sponsored training in proper erosion and sediment control principles.
  • Familiarity with SWPPP inspections and producing SWPPP reports.
  • Experience with utility construction projects and applicable federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the project.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple parties and communicate clearly to the contractor.
  • Experience/Knowledge in spill reporting to regulatory agencies.
  • Experience inspecting all construction activities, including clearing, access road improvements and installations, structure removals, replacement structure installations, wire-stringing, installation and maintenance of temporary erosion controls, work involving wetlands, streams, agricultural lands.
  • Experience working in and around water and environmental monitoring compliance with permit conditions.
  • Experience inspecting and managing all environmental protection requirements.
  • Current waste training (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act undefined hazardous waste and United States Department of Transportation undefined hazardous materials).
