I. Job Summary
Manages engineering staff and activities.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Organizes and schedules all necessary engineering resources required to accomplish activities.
- Monitors department work processes, procedures and expenses, and establishes programs which drive team performance toward departmental and organizational goals.
- Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
- Submits reasonable budget information and analyzes data versus year-to-date data and prior year budget.
- Manages departmental projects as needed.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Develops and tests components, equipment, and systems applying principles and techniques of electrical, mechanical, chemical, and/or industrial engineering.
- Functions as a working team member, and provides technical and administrative direction to other engineering staff.
- Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Ensures that department project goals are met within the stated guidelines and requirements.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, in Engineering or similar area of study
- 7 years previous experience.
