About the Role
We're looking for a dependable and detail‑oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Montebello. In this role, you'll support the full AR cycle, ensuring timely billing, accurate posting of payments, and consistent follow‑up on outstanding accounts. You'll work closely with customers and internal departments to keep cash flow healthy and financial records up to date.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner
Accurately post customer payments (checks, ACH, credit card) to the accounting system
Monitor aging reports and follow up on past‑due accounts
Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, payment plans, and billing questions
Research and resolve payment discrepancies or short‑pays
Maintain detailed and organized AR records
Assist with month‑end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting
Support audits by providing documentation as needed
Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve account issues
Qualifications
3+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
Strong understanding of AR processes, billing, and collections
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
Proficiency in Excel and general spreadsheet functions
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and customer‑service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or a similar industry
Familiarity with cash application and lockbox processing
Basic understanding of GAAP
