About the Role
We are hiring an Application Programmer III (SWIFT Technologist) to join our client’s Payments Technology team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading global financial institution supporting critical payment infrastructure systems. You’ll help drive secure, compliant, and high-performance payment messaging solutions used for domestic and international financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, patch, and maintain SWIFT applications including Alliance Gateway, Alliance Access, Web Platform, and Net Link
Support and troubleshoot production issues related to SWIFT payment systems
Work with SWIFT messaging formats (MT, MX) and industry standards such as ISO 20022
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and production support teams to deliver enhancements and fixes
Participate in Agile ceremonies including story refinement, estimation, and sprint planning
Perform proof of concepts and technical analysis to mitigate risks and improve system performance
Contribute to integration, regression, and performance test suites
Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, compliance, and security requirements
Document deployment, maintenance, and operational procedures
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years of experience in the technology industry
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining SWIFT products
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging formats and protocols
Experience working with applications running on AIX or Linux operating systems - Proficiency in Python and/or Core Java
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of ISO 20022 payment formats
Experience with real-time payment systems (RTP, SEPA Instant, FedNow, etc.)
Exposure to infrastructure upgrades and hardware security modules
Understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $65 – $75 per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
