Overview:

We’re looking for a talented Application Developer to join our agile development team and play a key role in building and enhancing our integrated benefits underwriting and management platform. This role blends hands‑on coding, database development, system documentation, and ongoing application support — ideal for someone who enjoys variety and end‑to‑end ownership.

 

How you'll make an impact:

1. Application Development

  • Write and develop code based on user stories provided by the Business Analyst (BA) team.
  • Collaborate with BAs and other developers to support new application development for our integrated benefits underwriting and management platform.
  • Participate in Agile Development processes, including regular meetings with BAs to review new requirements, progress on existing work, and testing.
  • Conduct thorough Data Exploratory Analysis before coding to identify potential issues with existing data not outlined in the specifications.

2. Application Support

  • Maintain and enhance existing applications within our benefits administration platform.
  • Implement new capabilities and fixes as needed.

3. Systems Documentation

  • Update systems documentation to reflect changes in requirements and use cases when modifications occur.

4. Database Design & Scripting

  • Design and optimize relational database schemas based on defined requirements and data analysis.
  • Create views and stored procedures for new or existing applications and reports.
  • Analyze and refactor existing views or stored procedures as data or requirements evolve.
About you:

Technical Proficiency

Programming Languages & Frameworks:

  • C#
  • Microsoft .Net (Framework and/or Core)
  • ASP.Net MVC and WebAPI
  • Client-Server RESTful communication
  • Bootstrap/jQuery
  • Windows Presentation Framework (WPF)

Database Management:

  • MS SQL
  • Design and implementation of logical and physical data models
  • Moderate to complex SQL
  • Database field encryption
  • Database tuning and maintenance
  • Managing transactional and data warehouse environments
  • Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) processes
  • Version Control:
  • Git/BitBucket

Additional Skills

  • Backup support for Windows Server.

Experience: 

  • 4+ years in systems development.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation and benefits:

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
