Job Title- API Developer
Location: Jersey City, NJ / Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL - onsite
Duration: 6 months
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable APIs using AWS API Gateway.
Integrate APIs with backend services, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and third-party applications.
Utilize core AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EKS for data processing, storage, and orchestration.
Implement security best practices, including OAuth 2.0, JWT authentication, authorization, and data validation.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage deployments using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CDK) ensuring high availability and resilience.
Monitor API performance using AWS CloudWatch, identify bottlenecks, and optimize for scalability.
Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI for seamless integration.
Act as a senior team member by conducting code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle within Agile/SAFe methodology.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years of hands-on software programming experience.
Minimum 5 years in backend and API development.
Programming Languages:
Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, Java, or C.
AWS Expertise:
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with API Gateway, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EKS, SNS.
API Design:
Expertise in REST and GraphQL architectural styles, versioning, and error handling.
Methodologies:
Solid understanding of Agile practices and cross-functional team collaboration.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and debugging skills to resolve complex technical issues.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Skills
Experience with AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of monitoring and logging frameworks.
