Overview 

The Analytical Chemist 1 performs routine analytical testing under supervision, supporting the generation of quality data to advance pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Conduct routine analyses (e.g., HPLC, UV, KF, FTIR) following established methods and SOPs. 

  • Prepare samples, reagents, and standards; ensure proper instrument calibration and maintenance. 

  • Document experimental details and results accurately in lab notebooks and electronic systems. 

  • Support method development for raw materials, product intermediates, and products to support the safety and efficacy of clinical trial material. 

  • Assist in maintenance and calibration of instruments, coordinating service when required. 

  • Participate in laboratory housekeeping and safety initiatives to maintain a compliant environment. 

  • Support method qualification and transfer activities under guidance of senior chemists. 

  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies. 

  • Escalate analytical issues to senior chemists and collaborate on resolutions. 

  • Draft methods, specifications, and analytical test methods. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Technical Competencies 

  • Basic understanding of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. 

  • Ability to follow methods and SOPs accurately and consistently. 

  • Knowledge of GMP/GLP concepts and data integrity principles. 

  • Competency in using laboratory software for data entry and instrument control. 

  • Understanding of sample preparation, dilutions, and basic calculations.

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related life science. 

  • 0–2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory. 

  • Familiarity with GMP documentation and Good Laboratory Practices.
