JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Delta Utilities is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our finance team. The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical accounting and financial reporting. This role will work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure the accuracy, transparency and timeliness of reports. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 7 years of relevant experience and will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports, analyzing financial data, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for lenders and private equity sponsor in accordance with GAAP, FERC, and other applicable regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate filings of financial reports with appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and process improvements.
- Monitor changes in financial regulations and standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintain and update financial reporting systems and tools (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Sage)
Financial Analysis & Reporting Improvements:
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with finance, treasury, regulatory, and other departments to ensure alignment in financial reporting.
- Support special projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and system implementations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
- Analyst Senior Level: At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a regulated utility or energy industry, public accounting, or a related role
- Analyst Lead Level: At least seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a regulated utility or energy industry, public accounting, or a related role.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FERC, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in ERP accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Physical Requirements
- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
- Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
