The Structural Mechanic is responsible for planning, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing aircraft structural components in accordance with engineering drawings, technical manuals, and FAA regulations. This role involves modifying aircraft structures, installing new structural components, and performing repairs or rework while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The position requires strong technical knowledge of aircraft structures and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and engineering documentation.\n\nResponsibilities:\nPlan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces.^Disassemble aircraft structures for modification and installation of new or modified components.^Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and production illustrations to determine installation methods, tools, and fasteners.^Lay out, fit, trim, and assemble structural parts and skin panels to precise tolerances.^Drill, countersink, and rivet exterior skin panels where surface quality and structural integrity are critical.^Perform structural repairs, modifications, and engineering order (E.O.) tasks as required.^Fabricate detail parts according to blueprints or engineering instructions.^Perform aircraft inspections including inventory, acceptance, and condition checks.^Use computer-based systems to complete documentation and job-related tasks.^Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
