About the Role

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineering Manager to lead system-level development of safety-critical lithium battery propulsion platforms used in electric aircraft and advanced defense applications.

This role is responsible for managing a team of aerospace systems engineers focused on:

  • Aircraft-level integration
  • Requirements capture & allocation
  • System safety analysis
  • Certification-driven development
  • Verification & Validation planning
  • Hardware / Software interface definition

As a vehicle-level aerospace systems engineering leadership role, you will own system-level engineering outputs from concept through qualification and certification across development and production programs.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead system architecture, requirements traceability, and verification strategy for electric propulsion battery systems
  • Manage execution of safety analyses (FHA, SSA, FTA, CMA, PRA, FMECA, etc.)
  • Support certification programs (TSO / STC / Experimental)
  • Coordinate cross-functional development with:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Embedded Software
    • Test Engineering
    • Manufacturing
    • Program Management
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace development standards (DO-254, DO-178, etc.)
  • Allocate engineering resources across development programs
  • Identify technical risks impacting certification or schedule milestones

Required Background

  • Bachelor's in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of aerospace systems engineering experience
  • Experience with certification-driven development environments
  • Demonstrated ownership of system-level requirements from concept through qualification
  • Familiarity with aerospace integration, safety analysis, and verification processes

Preferred

  • Electric propulsion or lithium-ion battery platform experience
  • DOORS / JAMA requirements management
  • RTCA DO-160 / MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-461 familiarity
  • Experience supporting FAA certification programs
  • Agile or Lean product development environments
