A day in this role

You arrive to a clean, organized cell, review the day’s work orders, and select the right punch/die combination for a new program. You dial in the back gauge, map your forming sequence, and produce a flawless first article. With GD&T in hand and gauges at the ready, you verify every critical feature—then keep production humming with consistent, repeatable bends. Throughout the shift, you collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production Supervisors to solve challenges and keep parts conforming to aerospace specs.

What you’ll do

• Set up and run CNC press brakes for first articles and production lots
• Configure tooling (punch/die), back gauge, and forming sequences for optimal accuracy
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and GD&T
• Produce precision sheet metal components to stringent aerospace standards
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and features
• Perform first article inspections and support buy-off requirements
• Monitor repeatability and dimensional stability; adjust machine offsets/settings as needed
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Production to resolve issues quickly
• Maintain a safe, orderly work area and uphold 5S best practices

What makes you successful

• 2–5 years setting up and operating press brakes/brake forming equipment (preferred)
• Solid understanding of sheet metal forming and common manufacturing processes
• Ability to read aerospace prints/specifications and apply GD&T
• Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and similar tools
• Background in aerospace or precision manufacturing (plus)
• Detail-driven, strong time management, and resourceful problem-solving
• Comfortable working independently and within a production team
