  • Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities:
  • The Administrative Assistant—Dialysis performs administrative functions specifically supporting the Dialysis Unit to ensure a seamless workflow with staff and patients.
  • Act as a receptionist for all patients and visitors to the Dialysis Unit.
  • Responsible for answering phones, calling replacement staff when needed, makes outside calls at the request of nursing personnel to physicians, patients, or transportation companies.
  • Register all incoming patients in the Outpatient Dialysis Unit.
  • Registers all patients into Spectra Laboratories for monthly blood work.
  • Responsible for submitting all patients’ demographic and insurance information to the Billing Department prior to admission.
  • Review and validate daily the Department Appointment Report to reconcile charges.
  • Check patient into Epic prior to treatments.
  • Compile statistics and submit monthly reports to Finance/Budget & Billing Department.
  • Assist in maintaining secretarial workflow, processing, typing, preparation, and mailing of general correspondence and minutes of meetings.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with timely submission of Medical Evidence Reports and Death Notices to Social Security and Quality Insights.
  • Responsible for monthly caseload reports to Quality Insights.
  • Maintain calendar for Nurse Manager.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong ability to multitask.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Some college.
  • 2 years or more of medical office experience with a thorough knowledge of insurance and hospital experience.

 

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
