Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our healthcare billing and collections function. This individual will play a key role in managing receivables, resolving claim issues, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance providers and patients.
Responsibilities
- Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances
- Submit and track claims with insurance carriers (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, underpayments, and discrepancies
- Post payments (EOBs/ERAs) and reconcile accounts
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Monitor AR aging reports and prioritize collections efforts
- Work closely with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate claim submission
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines (HIPAA, etc.)
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounts receivable or medical billing experience
- Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, insurance claims, and collections
- Experience working with EHR/medical billing systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar preferred)
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information
