Accounts Payable Specialist - Washington, DC

Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a reputable and growing organization based in Washington, DC, to identify a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who brings strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, collaborative environment. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations and ensuring timely, accurate processing of payables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and review vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, proper coding, and required approvals
  • Maintain the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate payments in accordance with internal policies
  • Assist with weekly and monthly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire payments
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing inquiries
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records and documentation
  • Support month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address invoice issues and improve processes
  • Assist with audit support and other ad hoc accounting projects as needed
