Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Accounts Payable Manager will lead the Company’s accounts payable function, overseeing a team of approximately 15 professionals, with the majority of processing performed through a nearshoring business process outsourcing model based in Trinidad. This role serves as the Company’s local AP leader and is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and well‑controlled processing of payables and cash disbursements.

 

The Manager will partner closely with Accounting, Treasury, and Operations to manage working capital, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensure SOX compliance, and drive automation and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is finance‑minded, strategically oriented, and technologically proficient.

 

Special focus to be placed on:

  • Lead and oversee the Accounts Payable department, including management of a nearshored AP team and third‑party service providers
  • Establish clear performance expectations, workflows, and controls for AP processing and cash disbursements
  • Manage day‑to‑day AP operations, including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, payment runs, and issue resolution
  • Ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance over accounts payable and cash distribution
  • Prepare and review AP‑related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Own AP balance sheet accounts and support month‑end close and financial reporting activities
  • Partner with Treasury and Accounting leadership to support working capital management and cash forecasting
  • Develop and deliver clear AP reporting and analytics for management
  • Support internal and external audit requests and maintain audit‑ready documentation
  • Lead automation, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Leverage technology, including Excel, Power BI, and AI‑enabled tools, to enhance reporting, controls, and operational insight
Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or accounts payable experience, including people leadership
  • Experience managing distributed, offshore, or nearshore teams preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and AP‑related SOX requirements
  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close processes
  • CPA or CPA candidate a plus

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools and automation in accounting processes
  • ERP and AP workflow system experience required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills
  • Finance‑ and strategy‑oriented mindset with ability to connect AP operations to broader business outcomes
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional and outsourced teams

Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 

  • Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer. 

 

Additional Requirements:  

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
