Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist

Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a growing accounting team In Greensboro, NC. This position is onsite Monday – Friday. This individual will support day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on AP and AR functions within a project-based construction environment. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting experience within the construction industry and experience working with Spectrum Viewpoint by Trimble or similar construction accounting software.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications in Spectrum Viewpoint
- Verify coding, approvals, and proper job cost allocation
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Maintain vendor records and resolve vendor inquiries
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and distribute customer invoices based on project progress and contract terms
- Post customer payments and reconcile AR balances
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections when needed
- Track retainage and progress billing related to construction projects
- Reconcile AR reports and assist with month-end closing
General Accounting Support
- Assist with job cost reporting and project accounting functions
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Support month-end close procedures
- Work closely with project managers and accounting staff regarding project billing and expenses
- Assist with audits or financial reporting as needed
Requirements:
- 3+ years of accounting experience (AP/AR)
- Construction industry accounting experience required
- Experience using Spectrum Viewpoint strongly preferred
- Understanding of job costing, progress billing, and retainage
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small accounting team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
