Role: Accounting Manager
Salary: $160K - $190K/annually + equity
Location: New York, New York
What You’ll Do
- Build the Foundation: Own the full-cycle month-end close, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Architect Scalable Systems: Implement new financial systems and develop the internal controls and policies necessary to support our next phase of growth.
- Technical Leadership: Lead the charge on complex accounting areas, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and stock-based compensation.
- Optimize Spend: Own the Procure-to-Pay process, ensuring seamless AP processing, vendor onboarding, and spend visibility.
- Compliance & Audit: Serve as the primary point of contact for annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Strategic Partnership: Work cross-functionally to automate manual processes and provide financial insights that inform major business decisions.
- Experience: 6–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally showing a trajectory of increasing responsibility.
- Credentials: Active CPA required; bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- A blend of Big Four public accounting and startup/high-growth tech experience.
- Technical Mastery: Deep fluency in US GAAP and a love for the "heavy lifting" of technical research.
- Toolbox: Proficiency with ERPs (NetSuite, QuickBooks), advanced Excel/Sheets, and modern SaaS billing tools. (SQL or Stripe experience? That’s a major plus).
- Mindset: A builder’s mentality—you see a messy process as an opportunity to create a streamlined system.
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant in a fast-paced, VC-backed environment.
