About the Role
A well‑established and growing organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead and manage all aspects of the accounting function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys full involvement in A/P, A/R, payroll, benefits, reporting, and month‑end close.
You’ll work closely with ownership and leadership, ensuring financial accuracy, overseeing processes, and supporting strategic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including A/P, A/R, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and P&L reports
- Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations while monitoring cash flow
- Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure accuracy of benefits and deductions
- Oversee onboarding, benefit administration, and personnel file maintenance
- Partner with external CPA for quarterly reviews and year-end tax filings
- Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and internal controls
- Support leadership with budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis
Qualifications
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- CPA highly Preferred
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, or a similar accounting system
- Payroll experience (ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll preferred)
- Familiarity with benefit administration and employee onboarding
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with staff, clients, and vendors
