Accounting Manager – Product Sales

Why This Role

This is a high-visibility Accounting Manager opportunity for a strategic, hands-on leader who enjoys owning complex revenue and inventory accounting while partnering closely with commercial and executive teams. You’ll lead a team, influence decision-making, and drive process improvements across refined and renewable product sales.


What You’ll Do

Lead & Own the Accounting Function

  • Own end-to-end accounting for refined and renewable product sales, inventory, and related revenue streams in compliance with GAAP

  • Oversee general and subsidiary ledgers, including AR, inventory, revenue, COGS, accruals, operating expenses, and cash forecasting

  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and timely reporting

Drive Accuracy, Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Review inventory and cost of goods sold documentation and systems daily to ensure precision and integrity

  • Manage revenue recognition matters and ensure compliance through cross-functional collaboration

  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure SOX compliance; design and enhance processes as the business evolves

  • Support external audits and serve as a key accounting subject-matter expert

Partner with the Business

  • Prepare and review margin analysis, variance reporting, and budget-to-actual insights for leadership

  • Partner with Commercial and Executive teams to analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights

  • Collaborate with Treasury to support customer billing, cash forecasting, and collections

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making

Lead, Develop & Mentor

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and growth


What You Bring

Experience & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience

  • Industry experience in Oil & Gas, Inventory, or Manufacturing preferred

  • Experience with SAP or a large ERP system strongly preferred

  • Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and monthly close

  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights

  • Proven leadership style—confident, collaborative, and adaptable to change

  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools


Work Environment

  • On-site role during regular business hours

  • Office-based environment with periods of extended sitting and computer use

  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak close or reporting periods
