We are looking for a dynamic and highly-motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Manager in the construction industry. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing strategic guidance to the management team.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
2. Implementing and maintaining QuickBooks for all financial transactions and reporting.
3. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
4. Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
5. Coordinating with project managers to monitor project budgets and expenses.
6. Working closely with auditors to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data.
7. Providing strategic guidance to the management team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
8. Training and mentoring accounting staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Proven experience in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
6. Exceptional project management and budgeting skills.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to train and mentor a team.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
