Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Oversee property and portfolio accounting for commercial real estate assets
  • Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Oversee the consolidation of month-end and year-end close activities across the company’s financials, including review of financial statements and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting of income statements, balance sheets, and cash accounts
  • Review and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate accounting standards
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accountants
  • Partner with asset management, operations, and leadership on budgeting and forecasting
  • Oversee tenant billing, CAM reconciliations, and lease accounting
  • Lead and drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhancements to internal controls
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
  • Assist with system optimization (Yardi or similar ERP)

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (real estate strongly preferred)
  • Prior experience with property accounting / commercial real estate
  • Experience with financial consolidations across multiple entities/portfolios required
  • Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems
  • Leadership or supervisory experience required
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and increasing efficiency
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
