Accounting Manager – Path to Controller

The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while driving process improvements and system implementations. Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with leadership to prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and ongoing cash flow forecasting
- Direct and continuously improve the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
- Review contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards
- Oversee Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and General Ledger (G/L) functions
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, including training and performance management
- Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support audits and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting regulations and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required, including in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, including revenue recognition
- Demonstrated experience with system implementations and process improvements
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
