Job Details
Responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage the overall function of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
2. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
3. Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
4. Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
5. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
6. Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
7. Provide financial analysis as needed, particularly for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
8. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and a system of controls over accounting transactions.
9. Support the CFO in ensuring that the accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company procedures.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager position will have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the mortgage industry.
3. Proficient in preparing financial statements and in-depth knowledge of GAAP.
4. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
6. Strong knowledge of accounting and financial software applications.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
