The Accounting Clerk supports the accounting department by performing a variety of clerical and transactional accounting tasks. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Prepare and process invoices, checks, and expense reports
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Maintain organized financial files and documentation
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial records
Support audits and compliance reviews as needed
Perform general administrative duties related to accounting operations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
