Accounting Assistant / Junior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our accounting operations. This role will assist with accounts payable and receivable, maintain financial records, and help ensure smooth day-to-day accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers a growth path into a Staff Accountant role for candidates who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and keeping financial records clean and well-documented.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing

• Maintain and monitor inventory and financial records

• Collect and organize supporting documentation for accounting transactions

• Perform data entry, document scanning, filing, and recordkeeping

• Maintain organized financial files and documentation

• Assist in resolving discrepancies related to invoices, receipts, and financial records

• Support the accounting team with additional administrative and accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

• Comfortable working with numbers, receipts, and financial documents

• Proficiency with computer programs including email, spreadsheets, and word processing

• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with QuickBooks

• Previous experience in the transportation industry

• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems 

Compensation

$36,000 – $45,000 per year, depending on experience.
