$55k - $65k
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support the Accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in various accounting software. This role involves assisting with financial records, reports, and general administrative duties to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor financial transactions.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Provide administrative support to the Accounting team, including data entry and filing.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies related to financial matters.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filings.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
