Our Finance and Accounting team is seeking a dedicated Accounting and Finance Manager. We need a leader who is energetic, fueled by curiosity, willing to push the boundaries of our financial processes, and focused on constant improvement. Our team’s mission is to teach financial knowledge to every member of the company; as a manager, you will be a primary contributor to that mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with the CFO and assist in managing a Finance and Accounting Team of 5-7 members. Participating in reviews and working with team members on their monthly goal tables.
- Supporting and collaborating with 15-20 technical service teams on billing, client requests and accounts receivable (AR).
- Assist in overseeing the monthly billing cycle that sends around 700 invoices out a month. Reviewing invoices for errors and creating processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of our invoice process. Covering invoice preparation responsibilities if a teammate is out or pitching in at peak times.
- Working with CFO to oversee AR processes and coordinating 400+ AR statements each month.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly financial reports that are issued to the partner group. Conducting regular financial analysis and providing the CFO and executive team with actionable insights to improve performance.
- Reviewing and assisting with monthly job cost reports.
- Processing payroll bi-weekly for all employees.
- Expertly navigating and optimizing our accounting software to summarize complex data into clear, reportable trends. Offer suggestions on ERP system and work with our 3rd party consultants to introduce custom reports.
- Communicating with clients to resolve discrepancies and strengthen our professional partnerships.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Software Expertise: High proficiency in accounting software such as Unanet is required.
- Advanced Data Skills: Mastery of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, and data modeling).
- Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the engineering, land development, or professional services industry.
- Leadership Track Record: Proven experience managing staff and overseeing departmental workflows.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate financial data for non-financial project managers.
