Job Description:
- Develops accounting policy through analysis of GAAP and business practices. Ensures accounting treatment is practical, cost-beneficial, and accurately portrays the economic substance of business transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares schedules and journal entries
- Prepare monthly state and federal reports for the following agencies:
- General Land Office (GLO)
- Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR)
- Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR)
- Commissioner of Land Office (CLO)
- Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC)
- Severance Tax Filings for the following States:
- Texas
- Louisiana
- Oklahoma
- Maintain tax rates and new setups within ERP.
- Record severance tax reimbursements related to marketing fee adjustments.
- Calculate and process owner interest payments.
- Assist with owner inquiries.
- Special projects or task as needed
Experience:
- Experience in accounting leadership, policy development, and corporate financial strategy.
- Experience in acquisition/divestiture transactions, oil and gas industry accounting.
- Directs strategic accounting policy, provides expert consultation on complex financial transactions, and ensures corporate compliance with financial regulations.
Skills:
- Build and maintain cross-departmental relationships to ensure information flow.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required; CPA, CMA, MBA, or Master's in Accounting preferred.
