Job Summary

As an Accountant, you will develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems, reconcile ledger accounts, and prepare financial statements to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with established procedures.

Job Description

We are looking for an Accountant to develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems including General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, or a combination of other accounting functionalities. This position will be a contract and onsite in Grayslake, IL.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, implement, and/or maintain one or more accounting systems such as General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, cost accounting systems, fixed asset or inventory accounting systems

  • Prepare journal entries; maintain and reconcile ledger accounts

  • Collect data, allocate costs, and prepare reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly, or other operating expenses, ensuring established procedures are followed

  • Balance books and prepare profit and loss, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements

  • Develop and monitor monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects, keeping records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions

  • Review, track, and maintain billing information in financial systems to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Conduct investigations into accounts as needed

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • High school diploma required

  • 5+ years of accounting experience

  • Fundamental knowledge of specific functional discipline to resolve routine issues or problems of limited scope

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or similar

  • Ability to learn and apply professional concepts, company policies, and procedures to resolve routine issues

  • Competencies to exercise discretion and independent judgment, applying skills and fundamental knowledge of theories and principles to understand specific needs or requirements

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$40.00 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
