Accountant, Associate (General Ledger) - Temp to Perm

Position Summary
The Associate Accountant is responsible for supporting general ledger and financial reporting activities, including recording journal entries, maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Position Details
Post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and internal controls
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including meeting deadlines and ensuring data accuracy
Open and close jobs in accordance with company procedures, ensuring proper documentation and control compliance
Monitor and maintain job-related controls, including validation of required approvals and data integrity
Ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions
Maintain organized and accurate financial records to support audits and internal reviews
Research and resolve routine accounting issues; escalate more complex matters as needed
Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing supporting documentation and explanations
Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
0–3 years of accounting or related experience preferred
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to review transactions and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve routine issues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Experience with ERP/accounting systems is a plus
Make decisions within defined guidelines

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California, this ranges from $26.00 - $30.00 Hourly plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
