Job Summary
This position works cooperatively with company staff, customers and outside brokers to deliver exceptional customer and sales support while meeting and increasing sales objectives. Must possess a strong customer service background and sales experience particularly the retail, private label and co-packing and manufacturing.
Essential Job Functions
- Inside Sales - Manage profitable growth and development of assigned accounts, increasing account penetration and customer engagement
- Outside Sales – Develop and maintain key business relationships with new customers resulting in a consistent and growing revenue stream.
- Broker Management: Manage their broker network if applicable
- Sales Strategy - Develop sales strategies, present them to management and implement them with customers' key decision-makers.
- New Product Development - Assist in ideation of new products sometimes on their own and other times in conjunction with customers and work cross-functionally with R&D toward their creation. Handles sample packing and distribution.
- Sales Projections - Develop accurate monthly forecasts and provide it to the planning team.
- Reportingand Analytics- Tracks, analyzes and reports sales performance against volume, promotions, and other key metrics.
- Competitive Research – Develop a key understanding of the competitive landscape through store checks and market research and using resources like customers and broker network.
- Sales Operations - Support functions involving pre- and post-order management issues. This includes reviewing the production plan to review when orders will be available to ship, re-build orders when necessary, and responding to changes due to production scheduling or logistical issues. This is usually done in conjunction with their assigned customer service representative.
- Co-Packing Sales Coordination – Manage and coordinate customer private label co-packing accounts (i.e. managing packaging or product coordination with customer and production planning).
- Company Knowledge - Develop a competent level of understanding of products, production process and capabilities including internal systems.
- People Management – Effectively manage and work together with the customer service representative, providing training, direction and performance guidance aligned with account needs and assigned job responsibilities including shipping schedule timelines.
- Cross-functional Management – Effectively manage cross functional departments (i.e. Production, Quality Assurance, HR, etc.) to ensure customer requests are met on a timely basis (i.e. customer audits, fact sheet requests, insurance, etc.)
Food Safety Responsibilities
- All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor
- Monitors and enforces cGMPs
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience
- 25% - 30% travel required or as needed
- Able to prepare sales presentations
- Salary commensurate with experience BA/BS degree preferred or a combination of experience
- Computer literate; Microsoft suite
Required Experience
- Knowledge of Private label and co- manufacturing process
- Previous experience working with R & D
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs.

Pay range: $85,000 - $105,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
