This organization is a long-standing distributor of surface preparation, finishing, and cleaning machinery, offering application engineering, laboratory services, and comprehensive support capabilities. The company stocks machinery, replacement parts, and media, and provides rentals, preventative maintenance, and field services to meet a wide range of customer needs.
Description
The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing sales within an established territory, maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, and developing new business opportunities. Responsibilities include assisting end users in selecting equipment and/or blast media solutions, preparing customer proposals, and providing hands‑on, in‑person after‑sales support.
- Manage and grow a well-established portfolio of long‑standing customer accounts, ensuring seamless transition from the retiring sales manager and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships.
- Provide ongoing support, product expertise, and service to existing customers, with a focus on retention, satisfaction, and expanding account value where appropriate.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the territory.
- Conduct regular customer visits and site assessments to understand needs, recommend solutions, and reinforce their value as the industry's leading surface‑prep distributor.
- Collaborate with internal teams on quoting, product availability, and technical support to deliver exceptional customer experience.
Profile
The ideal candidate is a relationship‑driven sales professional who excels at nurturing long‑standing accounts while confidently pursuing new opportunities.
- Hands‑on, solutions‑oriented, and capable of supporting customers both in the field and during equipment demonstrations.
- Highly organized, self motivated, strong communication skills.
- Prior industrial sales experience (machinery preferred)
- Prior distribution experience is a plus
Job Offer
- Company car provided (+ gas/mileage)
- Commissions paid out monthly (rather than quarterly)
- A well established book of business
- $50,000 base + bonus (OTE of $110,000 - $145,000)
