Job Brief
A System One Account Manager is responsible for building long-term, trusted relationships with engineering and AEC clients by delivering a high-touch, concierge-level staffing experience. This role oversees a portfolio of active engineering job requisitions and ensures seamless fulfillment in partnership with the Account Executive and recruiting teams.
The Account Manager plays a critical role in growing and protecting client relationships by maintaining continuity, driving service excellence, and creating strong barriers to entry against competitors. Success in this role is defined by client satisfaction, fulfillment quality, and long-term account retention and expansion.
What Does an Account Manager Do?
Account Managers oversee the end-to-end management of engineering staff engagements, including job order intake, fulfillment coordination, and ongoing client communication. You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders within architecture, engineering, and construction firms, ensuring staffing solutions align with project demands, timelines, and technical requirements.
This role works cross-functionally with internal partners, including Account Executives, Recruiting Leadership, Recruiters, and Operations—to optimize delivery, improve client experience, and identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
A successful Account Manager collaborates closely with the sales team to achieve revenue and retention goals while keeping clients engaged, informed, and confident in System One’s services over the long term.
Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned engineering and AEC client accounts
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with client stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with engineering managers, project leaders, and executive sponsors
  • Manage the flow of engineering job requisitions and oversee the fulfillment process from intake through placement
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of staffing solutions aligned with client project needs and objectives
  • Collaborate with recruiting teams to align technical talent with engineering disciplines and project requirements
  • Forecast, track, and report on key account metrics, including fulfillment activity and revenue performance
  • Prepare regular account status updates and performance reports
  • Support issue resolution, escalations, and complex client requests as needed
Requirements & Skills
  • Proven experience in staffing, recruiting, or account management, preferably within engineering, technical, or AEC markets
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Experience delivering client-focused staffing solutions in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Bullhorn ATS/CRM, search tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred

COMPENSATION:
  • Salary plus monthly commission on individual placement gross profit.
