Job Summary
This temporary position is responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for staff, residents, and visitors at Acacia Creek.
Essential Functions
- Follow cleaning schedules and directives from the supervisor, ensuring all duties are completed on time and to standard.
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of resident apartments, common areas, and facilities.
- Utilize proper cleaning methods for various surfaces, including floors, walls, fixtures, and furnishings.
- Manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness of trash receptacles.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist with laundry responsibilities, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens and resident clothing.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures before, during, and after cleaning tasks.
- Move furniture and equipment as necessary to facilitate thorough cleaning.
- Complete all assigned duties as directed by the supervisor.
This role will also involve promoting and supporting successful aging principles through participation in training and team initiatives, while embodying the core values of integrity, dedication, respect, compassion, teamwork, and quality.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Prior experience in housekeeping, preferably within a retirement facility or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with the proper use of commercial cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Ability to weekend work when needed.
Compliance with Regulations:
- Adhere to all resident rights policies, ensuring fair and equitable treatment and maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
- Promptly report all incidents or unsafe conditions to ensure a secure environment.
- Follow established safety guidelines to maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and mops.
- Standard office and cleaning supplies.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling biohazard materials.
Environmental Conditions
- Indoor environment is temperature controlled for comfort.
- May require exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Potential exposure to hazardous fluids; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking for extended periods required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and some climbing involved.
