Position Summary
As the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic, you will service, repair and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Works under minimal supervision.
General Responsibilities:
- Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area. Repair, modify, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized areas of aircraft.
- Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data. Conduct operational tests.
- Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
- Complete job assignments in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.
- Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A&P Mechanic:
Inspects, maintains, repairs, and overhauls aircraft components and systems such as engines, landing gear, hydraulics, flight controls, and avionics to ensure they're safe and airworthy
Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to repair aircraft systems
Diagnose issues, replace parts, perform detailed inspections, and document all maintenance according to federal regulations
Troubleshoot flight control systems
Commercial aviation or equivalent military aviation maintenance experience required
A&P License Preferred, not required
Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe license, or A&P license preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of related commercial aircraft MRO experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to effectively speak and communicate, read, and write in English.
- Must be authorization to work in the US for any employer.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Boeing 737 systems MRO experience
- A&P License
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.
