Work Tasks to be performed

• Crops: Apples, cherries, and grapes (trees and vines).
• The primary responsibilities of this position include ensuring equipment operates at optimal levels, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and performing necessary repairs. It also involves conducting preventive maintenance as per company and manufacturer guidelines, keeping accurate repair records, and operating various types of heavy and light equipment such as tractors, trucks, and loaders. The role requires performing welding, acetylene burning, brazing, and soldering when needed, as well as general labor and cleaning tasks related to equipment maintenance. Additionally, maintaining a safe, organized work environment is essential for efficient performance.
• Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repairs. Workers may drive company vehicles to transport crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers if the workers have a valid driver’s license from either a state in the U.S. or their native country and if they pass the DOT medical exam. The driver’s license is not a pre-hire job requirement. They may drive workers from living quarters to worksites and vice versa and provide one weekly trip to workers to purchase groceries. Drive times may fluctuate depending on the nature of the crops, business needs, and weather conditions.

Job Requirements

• Worker must possess 24 months of proven experience as a mechanic. Worker must also

have familiarity with various types of farm equipment, such as tractors, harvesters, and

sprayers.

• The worker agrees to be available for work and perform the assigned work for the assigned employer through the full period of employment.
• Driver requirements
• Must be able to lift and/or load up to 50 lbs.
• Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, batteries, etc.
• May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while repairing, replacing engine parts, etc.
• Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as repairing, replacing, engine filters, air filters, changing the oil, etc.
• There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example replacing engine parts.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions including rain, wind, or snow.

The employer will furnish, without charge, tools,  supplies and protective equipment required to perform  the  specified  work.

Work Schedule
6  hours per day Monday to Friday and 5 on Saturday. It is the prevailing practice to work more or different hours than those listed. The worker may be offered, but not required, to work more  hours.

Transportation
Transportation costs to the job site for domestic  workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job  site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of  the contract period. Transportation costs from the job site  to the workers home will be provided to those  domestic workers that complete the entire contract  period.

The employer agrees to provide or pay for the worker’s transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer, pursuant to 20 CFR 655.122(h)(2). The employer must provide or pay for the worker’s transportation whether to advance or provide transportation as described in this paragraph.

Employer agrees to provide for or secure housing for  workers and those workers in corresponding employment who are not reasonably able to return to their residence at the end of the workday. That housing complies with the applicable local, State, or Federal standards and is sufficient to house the specified number of workers requested through the clearance system. The employer will provide the housing without charge to the worker.

Where the employer provides the meals, the job offer will state the charge to the worker for such meals is $16.28 per day per worker.
