CNC Setup (3rd Shift)

Hours: 9:00pm-6:00am
Location: Santa Ana, CA
Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

The CNC Operator/Setup  is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a fast-paced production environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-precision manufacturing, efficient workflow, and quality output.

 Responsibilities:

• Set up CNC lathes, mills, manual machines, and inspection equipment to meet production schedules.

• Update and maintain setup procedures for machining processes.

• Read blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to ensure precision.

• Transfer programs to CNC machines using computer systems.

• Inspect parts for accuracy and quality against specifications.

• Complete production documentation, including part measurements and shop floor records.

• Train and mentor junior machinists on machine setup and best practices.

• Operate multiple machines when cycle times allow.
  
  Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ year experience in CNC mill and lathe setup.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Knowledge of machine shop and tool room practices.

• Understanding of machining properties for various metals.

• Proficiency in CNC equipment setup and tool adjustments.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, math, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.

• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Other Requirements:

• Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

• Familiarity with writing or editing CNC programs.
