We are seeking a 2nd Shift Hydromat Operator in Painesville, OH for a 2nd shift position (3:00 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday). This established, non-union production facility specializes in high-precision small parts manufacturing using Hydromats, ACME Gridleys, CNC lathes, and mills—and with retirements creating urgent demand, there is strong long-term stability and opportunity for skilled operators who truly know their craft.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this 2nd Shift Hydromat Operator position include:
- Minimum 3 years of Hydromat or CNC machining experience; set up and operate Hydromat rotary transfer machines in a production environment
- Proficiency in CNC mill or lathe programming; enter instructions, set tool registers, offsets, and prove part programs
- Experience setting up CNC mills, CNC lathes, ACME Gridley, INDEX multi-spindle, or similar machines; install and adjust chucks, collets, bushings, cams, and tooling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints; load raw materials and ensure machining processes meet specifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills; monitor drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, knurling, and thread chasing operations
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers; inspect finished parts to verify accuracy and quality
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs; document shift activities and communicate production needs
- Solid math skills (geometry and trigonometry); familiarity with CAD/CAM and manufacturing processes preferred
Salary: $32 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including weekly pay (Wednesdays), paid holidays (6 currently), health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days, 401(k) after one year with up to 2% match, and vacation starting at 40 hours after 6 months, increasing to 80 hours after 1 year, 120 hours after 3 years, and 160 hours after 5 years.
