Job Description

  • Manage a caseload of first-party property damage insurance claims from intake through resolution
  • Analyze coverage issues, damages, and liability to develop smart litigation strategy
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, demand materials, and other litigation documents
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation and arbitration
  • Appear in court for hearings and proceedings as needed (trial experience not required)
  • Communicate clearly with clients and keep them updated on strategy and next steps
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to drive timelines and outcomes
  • Stay current on Texas insurance law and evolving property claim trends

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • 2+ years (up to 5 years) of property damage litigation experience (plaintiff or defense)
  • Active Texas Bar membership in good standing
  • Strong writing skills and comfort handling discovery and motion practice
  • Deposition and mediation experience is a plus
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment
