Are you a highly skilled perfusionist looking to make a meaningful impact across diverse healthcare settings? We are seeking a dedicated Travel Perfusionist II to operate advanced life support systems, including cardiopulmonary bypass machines and intra-aortic balloon pumps, during intricate cardiovascular surgeries. This pivotal role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with leading medical teams, gain diverse clinical experience, and contribute to life-saving procedures on the go.
What We Need From You:
- Completion of an accredited perfusionist program
- Valid Texas licensure as a Perfusionist
- BLS certification from AHA
- Minimum of 3 years of perfusion experience preferred; open to new graduates
- Proficiency in operating cardiopulmonary support and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) systems
- Strong understanding of physiology, pharmacology, and surgical techniques
- Excellent patient management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with surgical teams and provide exceptional patient care
Additional Skills That Would Shine:
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
- Experience with total or partial artificial heart systems
- Familiarity with heparin, protamine, and anticoagulation management
- Previous experience working in various settings such as OR, ICU, or cath labs
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Technology or related healthcare field
- At least 3 years of hands-on perfusionist experience in cardiovascular surgery
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel regularly
- Availability for full-time schedules, Monday through Friday, 7 AM 4 PM
- Ability to arrive 30 minutes early for each scheduled surgery for setup
- Commitment to maintaining high standards for equipment sterilization and infection control
