Charles Schwab Asset Management is responsible for managing the Investment and Asset Management businesses of Schwab. The Wealth Asset Management (WAM) Engineering team is part of the Schwab Technology Services (STS) organization, and this opportunity is on the Alternatives Investments and Insurance & Annuities Team. Alternative Investments and Insurance & Annuities are a diverse group of software developers responsible for developing and supporting multiple enterprise class solutions in support of Schwabs various lines of business. We have an opening for a software development position that will design & develop efforts for current application support and future application development. We are looking for an individual that has a lot of curiosity, passion about technology, is driven to learn new things, and is always looking to improve process.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
What you’ll do:
We are looking for a versatile software application developer whose role will be distributed across all phases of the SLDC - from early Inception solutioning through to final solution implementation and support. Responsibility and activities include, but are not limited to:
• Applies knowledge of data engineering fundamentals to independently implement operations for data pipelines and storage systems for projects and programs within the designated business area.
• Applies quality assurance testing methodologies and tools to independently conduct testing for projects and programs within the designated business area.
• Applies knowledge of requirements management, such as requirement analysis, organization, and validation, within the designated business area to meet current and future business needs.
• Applies implemented security controls and records to independently monitor and administer a secure IT environment for projects and programs within the designated business area.
• Applies software development standards, processes, and methods independently to create, test, and verify software components, ensuring reliability and resolving operational problems and bugs, for projects and programs within the designated business area.
• Applies software release and deployment practices, such as managing the deployment of software updates and ensuring compliance with safety, security, and quality standards, for projects and programs within the designated business area.
• Applies design concepts to independently develop system design components and models, ensuring compatibility with cloud computing architectures, utilizing [specific adaptive approach] for lifecycle models and methodologies.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement effective system design and architecture approaches
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement effective software release and deployment approaches
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement effective software development practices, following established standards, processes, and methods to create, test, and verify software components, ensuring reliability and addressing operational issues and bugs.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
• Experience (4-6 years) performing development, testing and release of code
• Experience (4-6 years) with the Agile process
• Experience (4-6 years) with C# DotNet
• Experience (3-5 years) with Angular
• Experience (3-5 years) with TypeScript
• Experience (4-6 years) with PCF
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience (3-4 years) with GitHub CI/CD a plus
• MS SQL is a plus
• Experience with scheduling tools like Control-M is preferred
