We are seeking a mission-driven Charlotte Regional Network Multilingual Language Coordinator (MLLC) to support the academic and social success of multilingual learners across our Charlotte-region schools with the highest ELL populations.
This role ensures multilingual scholars receive high-quality instruction, appropriate services, and equitable access to academic opportunities. The MLLC leads identification processes, oversees language proficiency assessments, strengthens instructional practices, partners with families, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

What You’ll Do
You’ll lead with purpose and clarity to ensure multilingual learners thrive academically and socially across the region.
As Multilingual Language Coordinator, you will:
Provide Academic & Instructional Leadership
Analyze student achievement data (WIDA, ACCESS, benchmark assessments, state tests) to identify instructional gaps and inform targeted interventions
Lead the development and implementation of strategic academic support plans focused on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement
Monitor the effectiveness of instructional models, interventions, and enrichment opportunities
Strengthen Teaching & Learning
Provide coaching and professional development on language acquisition, sheltered instruction (e.g., SIOP), and culturally responsive teaching
Collaborate with curriculum leaders to embed English Language Development (ELD) standards into core content areas
Ensure ELL services align with school improvement plans and academic priorities
Oversee Identification, Assessment & Compliance
Coordinate the distribution and review of Home Language Surveys
Administer and coordinate WIDA screeners and ACCESS testing across assigned schools
Ensure appropriate testing accommodations aligned with LEP plans
Maintain accurate documentation and support schools during audits and compliance reviews
Partner with Families & Communities
Coordinate translation and interpretation services
Facilitate communication between families and school personnel
Support family engagement in academic planning and goal setting
Promote equitable access to educational resources and differentiated instruction

Required Qualifications
You’ll bring strong experience supporting multilingual learners and improving student outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree (minimum GPA of 3.0)
Valid license and certification (as required by state guidelines)
Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an ELL/MLL setting
Experience coordinating assessments and compliance processes
Commitment to equity and access for multilingual learners
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading adults and facilitating professional development
Background in instructional coaching
Familiarity with WIDA standards and sheltered instruction frameworks (e.g., SIOP)
Experience in charter or choice-based school settings

Compensation & Schedule
This full-time role follows the academic calendar and supports multiple schools within the Charlotte region.
Starting Salary: $65,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package available for eligible employees
Schedule: Academic calendar with regional travel as needed
Additional Commitments: Occasional evenings or weekends for family engagement or testing coordination
