    Our Mission

Movement Schools is a growing network of free, public charter schools.  We exist to love and value scholars and communities by leading a movement of excellence in education. In partnership with our families, we equip our scholars with the tools to close generational gaps through self-efficacy, access to world-class instruction, and financial education.

    About This Role

Champion Multilingual Learners. Advance Equity. Strengthen Instruction Across Schools.

At Movement Schools, we believe every scholar deserves access to a rigorous, joyful, and deeply supportive learning environment — regardless of the language they speak at home. We are seeking a mission-driven Charlotte Regional Network Multilingual Language Coordinator (MLLC) to support the academic and social success of multilingual learners across our Charlotte-region schools with the highest ELL populations.

This role ensures multilingual scholars receive high-quality instruction, appropriate services, and equitable access to academic opportunities. The MLLC leads identification processes, oversees language proficiency assessments, strengthens instructional practices, partners with families, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

If you are passionate about educational equity, skilled in instructional leadership, and committed to empowering multilingual scholars and their families, we invite you to apply.

    What You’ll Do

You’ll lead with purpose and clarity to ensure multilingual learners thrive academically and socially across the region.

As Multilingual Language Coordinator, you will:

    Provide Academic & Instructional Leadership

    • Analyze student achievement data (WIDA, ACCESS, benchmark assessments, state tests) to identify instructional gaps and inform targeted interventions

    • Lead the development and implementation of strategic academic support plans focused on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement

    • Monitor the effectiveness of instructional models, interventions, and enrichment opportunities

    Strengthen Teaching & Learning

    • Provide coaching and professional development on language acquisition, sheltered instruction (e.g., SIOP), and culturally responsive teaching

    • Collaborate with curriculum leaders to embed English Language Development (ELD) standards into core content areas

    • Ensure ELL services align with school improvement plans and academic priorities

    Oversee Identification, Assessment & Compliance

    • Coordinate the distribution and review of Home Language Surveys

    • Administer and coordinate WIDA screeners and ACCESS testing across assigned schools

    • Ensure appropriate testing accommodations aligned with LEP plans

    • Maintain accurate documentation and support schools during audits and compliance reviews

    Partner with Families & Communities

    • Coordinate translation and interpretation services

    • Facilitate communication between families and school personnel

    • Support family engagement in academic planning and goal setting

    • Promote equitable access to educational resources and differentiated instruction

    Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a leader who believes multilingualism is an asset and who leads with both urgency and empathy.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

    • Believe all scholars can achieve at high levels and advocate for equitable access

    • Are skilled at using data to drive instructional decisions

    • Can coach and influence adults toward improved instructional practice

    • Communicate clearly and respectfully across cultures and languages

    • Are organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing compliance systems

    • Thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment

    Required Qualifications

You’ll bring strong experience supporting multilingual learners and improving student outcomes.

    • Bachelor’s degree (minimum GPA of 3.0)

    • Valid license and certification (as required by state guidelines)

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an ELL/MLL setting

    • Experience coordinating assessments and compliance processes

    • Commitment to equity and access for multilingual learners

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience leading adults and facilitating professional development

    • Background in instructional coaching

    • Familiarity with WIDA standards and sheltered instruction frameworks (e.g., SIOP)

    • Experience in charter or choice-based school settings

Why You’ll Love Working at Movement

You’ll make a measurable impact on scholars and families in a supportive, mission-driven community.

    • Advance educational equity for multilingual scholars

    • Collaborate with passionate, values-aligned educators

    • Lead meaningful regional work with strong organizational support

    • Access professional growth and leadership development opportunities

    • Make a lasting impact across multiple campuses

    Compensation & Schedule

This full-time role follows the academic calendar and supports multiple schools within the Charlotte region.

    • Starting Salary: $65,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

    • Employment Type: Full-Time

    • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package available for eligible employees
