Job Description



·         Identify, analyze, and interpret healthcare trends or patterns in complex data sets

·         Create, and present quality and medical cost dashboards

·         In collaboration with others; interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings

·         Discover potential areas for cost improvement and management/healthcare initiative strategies

·         Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results

·         Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports. Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources

·         Work closely with developers/statisticians to identify, design, and build appropriate datasets for complex analysis

·         Create data mining and analytics architectures, coding standards, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies

·         Establish, create, code links across existing data sources and find relevant dependencies

·         Work with management, clinical team, and analytics team members to translate business needs into production

·         Assist in the development of data management policies and procedures

·         Develop best practices for analytics instrumentation and experimentation

·         Develop and maintain data dictionary

·         Collaborate with providers, unit managers, end users, development staff, and other stakeholders to integrate data mining applications with existing systems

·         Provide and apply quality assurance best practices for data mining/analysis services across the organization

·         Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data models

·         Determine required components to ensure data access, as well as data consistency and integrity.

·         Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices use of data mining tools

·         Respond to and resolve data discrepancy issues

Job Requirements



·         Bachelor's in Information Management, Healthcare Information, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields

·         Previous healthcare data analyst experience

·         Strong understanding of data mining models, structures, theories, principles, and practices

·         Excellent knowledge of Crystal Reports, MS Excel and Access

·         Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting

·         Working technical experience with relational database servers, including MS SQL and other query based languages and BI tools like SSRS

·         Project management experience desirable

·         Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

·         Knowledge of SPSS or other statistical packages is desirable for analyzing large datasets

·         Extensive knowledge of advanced statistical methods and modeling used in analyzing healthcare data mining

·         Good knowledge of the healthcare industry

·         Ability to present work findings and decisions under demanding deadlines and challenges while maintaining a professional image attitude

·         Excellent analytical, planning, problem solving, verbal and written skills to communicate complex ideas

·         Ability to work independently, within a team environment and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

·         Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports

·         Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

·         Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

·         Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting and query packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.)

·         Programming experience a plus (C, Java, PowerShell, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML and more)

·         Strong understanding of HL/7

·         Able to create and troubleshoot APIs especially ReST API

·         Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

·         Familiar with XDS and ASCII

·         Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner

·         Good written and oral communication skills
